FORT WALLA WALLA CELLARS
The next time you are visiting Walla Walla, stop in to the downtown tasting room of FORT WALLA WALLA CELLARS, located on main at the corner with Spokane street. These great wines have a good price point for their quality and are ready to drink with a short time in your decanter. Made from local valley grapes (including Peperbridge) and grapes out of the Columbia Valley, you’ll enjoy the balanced finish and just the right tannin on their newer releases of Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, and a blend from 2006 and 2007 vintages.
Cliff Kontos and his partner Jim Moyer, are shown in the tasting room. Cliff was our neighbor for a few years on Alvarado Terrace when he lived his life as a rancher, wheat farmer, and basement wine maker. His son, Cameron has branched out on his own too, opening Kontos Cellars in one of the airport incubator wineries. Wine club members are really l liking his 2007 Malbec! Cam also is the assistant wine maker at Forgeron Cellars learning from French wine maker Marie-Eve Gilla. Visit all the small wineries at the airport and it will take you several days. Please enjoy your visit.
